-Rural scenic riding.
-Good, gently winding roads
-Lunch in Vermont Inn
-Sternwheel paddleboat cruise
UNIQUE EXPERIENCE! This is one of our most unique tours, combining very scenic rural riding, lunch at an 1803 Vermont country inn, followed by a fun, sternwheel boat cruise.
Our Guides will depart from the southern tip of Lake George on your Vermont-bound ride. You'll cross eastern New York's rolling farmland and pastures, and enter Vermont's lush green forests, passing through quaint picture-postcard villages. There are a number of scenic views on this ride, so have your camera ready.
Your lunch destination is set in a quintessential historic Vermont town with the ambiance of a bygone era, featuring white clapboards, cozy inns, and general stores. You'll dine in a classic country inn whose chefs showcase Vermont's abundance of local products and celebrate its farms and producers. Lunch includes Garden Salad with two dressings, Chicken Marsala with Rice, and more. For dessert, enjoy cookies/brownies.
Following lunch, you'll enjoy a gently winding route to your next destination. A ride on an authentic sternwheel paddleboat for a Lock and Waterfall Cruise. Yep, you'll hop aboard this fascinating ship as the sternwheel churns away, gliding past unspoiled river scenery and eventually through a lock. Watch as the massive lock gates close, allowing the river's level to rise 20', connecting you to another channel - a fun experience!
As your guides lead you home, you'll have more wonderful roads to ride and even better memories from this very memorable trip.
WHAT IS A GUIDED TOUR? (psst, it's your best bet to a great day of riding.)
Americade Guided Tours are group rides, with at least two tour guides, and are based on what we love about riding (great Scenery, excellent and smooth roads, low traffic and interesting stops). And, we find excellent lunch stops, and negotiate great food prices for you. They are an Americade specialty and allow you to relax & ride, while our friendly guides lead you to the destination where a great lunch awaits you. Our guides provide some commentary via CB. Don't worry about maps, traffic, getting lost, breakdowns or finding a great lunch spot - We've got you covered.
Your day will begin by meeting your guide in the morning on the shores of Lake George, "The Queen of American Lakes" (according to Thomas Jefferson) surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains. We're confident that there is no prettier place to begin a ride. Once you meet your guides, your group will head out at a relaxed pace with your guides leading and following the group. Stops will take place at about an hour into the ride, and after lunch. During the ride, feel free to ask your guides questions, via CB radio.
So, if you're coming all the way up to the Adirondacks, why not guarantee yourself a great day of riding?
