Described as “America’s #1 extreme adventure rider,” Dr. Gregory, or “Dr. G,” has just finished his sixth motorcycle global circumnavigation.
In fact, Americade managed to contact him somewhere in Vietnam, after another hard day on the road. He remarked: “seems like I’ve been ducking and dodging death every 2-3 minutes - this is no place for a learner - it's kind of a mix of Cairo, Athens, and a stirred-up ant hill, just a slower speeds. It’s a great place for motorcycle survival skill testing.”
Author, moto-journalist, film producer, economist and often times wastrel or motorhead lay about, Dr. G has logged over 1,000,000 motorcycling miles. When not piloting two motorized wheels somewhere on the planet he’s contributing as the Adventurer Editor-at-Large for Motorcycle USA and Accelerate magazines. As Chief of The World Adventure Affairs Desk for the prestigious City Bike magazine, he often wildly opines from the road around the globe.
No stranger to danger, Dr. G says of his 50 years of adventuring, “I'm always seeking new experiences - unless they have something to do with snakes or sharks.”
His multi-media presentation at Americade, subtitled RIDING THE WORLD, illustrates how this modern day adventurist viewed the world from atop motorcycles ranging from Hondas and Kawasakis to Indians, Harley-Davidsons and yes, Amazonas models.
