EVERYDAY

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday

GUIDED & UNGUIDED RIDES

Sit back and relax. We've got everything covered.

RIDES OVERVIEW

All rides can be ridden as part of a group with a guide (“Guided”) or on your own (“Unguided”).  The routes are excellent regardless.

Guided or Unguided, the group meets up to have lunch together at one of the great spots we chose.  Make some friends and off you go.  (The cost of the tour with lunch is about what a non-Americader would pay for only the lunch, so it’s a good deal.)

Guided rides include carefully created routes, friendly lead and sweep guides, catered lunches and regular potty stops.  Many include additional special features noted below.

Unguided rides are the same and come with a map, but don’t have…guides.  (You probably could have guessed that)

WHAT IS A GUIDED TOUR?

WHAT IS A GUIDED RIDE? (psst, it’s your best bet to a great day of riding.)

Americade Guided Rides are group rides, with at least two tour guides, and are based on what we love about riding (great scenery, excellent and smooth roads, low traffic, and interesting stops). Plus, we find excellent lunch stops and negotiate great food prices for you. They are an Americade specialty and allow you to relax & ride, while our friendly guides lead you to a destination where a great lunch awaits you.

Our guides may provide some commentary via CB. Don’t worry about maps, traffic, getting lost, breakdowns or finding a great lunch spot – We’ve got you covered.

Your day will begin by arriving between 7-7:15 at the Guided MiniTour Departure Lot at the Biscotti Brothers Cafe (across Canada Street from Westbrook Road in Lake George).

Once you meet your guides, you will have a Riders Meeting at 7:30.  Then, your group will head out at a relaxed pace with your guides leading and following the group. Stops will take place at about an hour into the ride and after lunch. During the ride, feel free to ask your guides questions via CB radio.

So, if you’re coming all the way up to the Adirondacks, why not guarantee yourself a great day of riding?

WHAT IS AN UNGUIDED RIDE?

WHAT IS AN UnGUIDED RIDE? (psst, it’s your best bet to a great day of riding on your own.) Americade UnGuided Rides are the best way to experience the Adirondacks or Vermont on your own or just with your friends, without worrying about finding good routes, smooth pavement, great scenery, and good food!

We’ve done all the planning for you, including pre-riding all the routes and testing the great lunches (it’s hard work, but someone has to do it…).  We give you a map to lead the way, noting gas stops, the lunch stop and other sights.

You leave on your own from the big marquee at Fort William Henry at approximately 8-8:30, follow the directions, and arrive at a very special lunch destination where Americade staff will greet you. Enjoy a delicious meal of your choice from the menu with fellow Americaders.

Round trip mileages are approximate.

So, if you’re coming all the way up to the Adirondacks, why not guarantee yourself a great day of riding?

WHAT IS AN ADVENTURE RIDE?

Americade offers Adventure Bike Rides, created and led by Jim Romeo and Pro Cycles Beta.  They are rides that explore many dirt roads, and perhaps the occasional trail in the Adirondacks.  They’re only suited for adventure bikes (leave the Wing on the trailer) with non-street biased tires, and riders properly equipped for off-road riding.  See more at the bottom of this page.

The Queens Loop

The Queens Loop

NEW! THE QUEENS LOOP – Guided or Unguided

The Queens Loop is a very scenic ride mixing lakeside roads with excellent rural riding, coupled with a jaw dropping lunch destination, getting you back to your hotel by early afternoon

We’ve created a loop around “the Queen of American Lakes” (Lake George) like no other, taking you on excellent roads many of which you’d likely never find on your own.  You’ll pop into Vermont briefly to enjoy some of our favorite off the grid paved roads, followed by a trip through Ticonderoga where you’ll see the “end” of Lake George – a spectacular, raging torrent of water exiting the lake on its way to Lake Champlain.  The route then becomes a wonderful winding lakeside route, taking you to one of the grandest and most exclusive lunch destinations in the region – a magnificent hotel on it’s own private island.

An absolutely stunning mountain ridge ride (see the photos) with a charming bistro lunch in a quintessential Vermont village.

First, you’ll ride through gorgeous farmland toward the Vermont border, taking in great sights of the Green Mountains to your east and riding through a covered bridge (or two).  Enjoy this relaxing romp because things are about to get very exciting.

You’re headed to a private toll road (we’ve taken care of the fee) that seemingly balances atop a mountain ridgeline to the very top of the second-highest mountain in Vermont.  It’s newly paved, marble smooth, and has some legitimate twisty sections.  Be prepared wowed.

You’ll be in rarified air, 3,850 feet above sea level. You’ll have 360-degree views of New Hampshire to the east, Massachusetts to the south, New York to your West and, on clear days, Montreal’s Mount Royal!

Afterward, we’re taking you to a quintessential Vermont village that by itself would be worth the ride.  Classic inns, white clapboarding, church spires…the whole deal.  And, in the village we’ll stop for lunch (on us) at a quaint bistro that has a great reputation for making great food.  You’ll love the food, you’ll be talking about the ride to the sky, and the day is only ½ done!

So, if you’re coming all the way up to the Adirondacks, why not guarantee yourself a great day of riding?

2024 RESERVOIR RAMBLE

NEW! The Reservoir Ramble – Guided or Unguided

This is one of our best routes packed into a shorter riding day.  You’ll ride along miles and miles and miles of winding waterfront on the shores of Lake George, Sacandaga Lake, and the northern Hudson River.  There are lots(!) of gorgeous views paired with this excellent route, and you’ll stop at several overlooks to appreciate the views.  Lunch will be at a historic hotel in the center of a small village.  On the ride home, we’ll enjoy dessert at a local favorite.  Lunch and ice cream are included. You’ll return to Lake George early afternoon. 120 miles.

A stunning ride through New York and Vermont, taking you to at least 7 lovely covered bridges, numerous quaint villages and a restaurant named the #1 Most Beautiful Restaurant in Vermont!

This is a perennial favorite of Americade, and if you haven’t done it, then you really should this year. This is a rare opportunity to ride through so many of these classic, and beautiful bridges while taking in the unique beauty of Vermont’s quaint villages.

This was the #1 rated route in 2019 for good reason (imagine a Norman Rockwell painting).

The highlights of the tour are the covered bridges, which in many cases are more than 150 years old yet are open for use to all. Before and after lunch you’ll ride slowly through them, enjoying their unique and charming character. And it’s very difficult to knit together such a good route through so many of them in a single day.

THIS is an amazing tour.

So, if you’re coming all the way up to the Adirondacks, why not guarantee yourself a great day of riding?

A highly entertaining and easygoing guided lakeside ride with great scenery and an elegant lakeside lunch destination.

This is a particularly good all-day ride taking you across and alongside the sinewy shorelines of Lake George and Lake Champlain.

Part of the ride includes a ferry crossing of Lake Champlain which is both fun and beautiful.  It also makes the day that much more memorable.

There are hundreds of fantastic views on this ride, overlooking the lake, the New York’s Adirondack Mountains and Vermont’s Green Mountains. You’ll span a large bridge, you’ll pass past revolutionary war forts, you’ll ride through farmland, you see little Vermont towns, and you’ll ultimately have lunch at a remarkable and elegant lakeside resort.

You’ll dine at a gracious resort on the shores of Lake Champlain, owned and operated by the same family since the 1800’s! After lunch, stroll along the shoreline for more amazing views.

So, if you’re coming all the way up to the Adirondacks, why not guarantee yourself a great day of riding?
